I have been looking for a way to make Easter more meaningful and this is it! I am super excited to start reading this book with my family as a way to count down to eater. I have 3 little ones and it will be perfect for them, but I can see how it will also be helpful for older children and adults to have a mindful and meaningful Easter.
I bought this book because I wanted some new ideas on how to place Christ at the center of our Easter celebration. I love the author's use of physical objects to remind us of people from the scriptures. My kids are young and really love object lessons. I look forward to trying them out.
I have been looking for a way to make the Easter season more Christ Centered and this book was the answer. I got my children involved and they are still too young to really understand but they have been enjoying it!
I really liked the insights in Freeman's Christ-Centered Christmas and was excited to see a follow-up for Easter. This one just lacked the insight, feeling, and depth the other has. I didn't end up using it as planned because it just fell flat for me.
To be honest, I was very disappointed with this book! It's a very short read, for one thing, and I found it lacking in real substance. In the author's attempt to take a non-traditional approach to celebrating Holy Week, she focuses on people, rather than on events that happened each day of the last week of the Savior's life. In doing so, unfortunately, the author also takes the focus almost entirely OFF of the Savior. There are some interesting insights in the book here and there, but I also found the author's tendency to reference herself and her own thoughts and feelings very distracting! I guess I was looking for a meatier, more doctrinally-based and educational devotional to help me and my family prepare for Easter. If you're goal is the same as mine, I'd suggest purchasing Eric D. Huntsman's "God So Loved the World." If you'd just like a light and pleasant read, this was enjoyable to that end.
Wonderful. Great to use leading up to Easter. For Family devotional. Nice pictures and ornaments to print off for a tree.
I also love the Easter Nativity that the authors sold separately (limited quantity)
This is a wonderful book for Easter! It has amazing stories and multiple activities and questions with each story to along with the Holy Week. I tell everyone I know to get this book. My kids adore it.
